Best Kid Friendly Swimming Holes in Oregon

Grants Pass Fish Hatchery

This beautiful park is located along the Applegate River and is a perfect spot for swimming, hiking, and fishing. There is a dam at the swimming hole which makes it a great swimming spot for kids due to there being no current. It does have some deep spots but it’s easily manageable.

Diamond Lake

Diamond Lake is one of my favorite swim spots to visit with kids. They have a great beach at the South Shore Picnic area for kid and dog friendly swimming as well as picnic tables, fireplaces, restrooms, a playground, volleyball court and horseshoe pits. You can also rent paddle boats, bumper boats, patio boats, and fishing boats. Just a short walk away from the beach there is a great restaurant to refuel and cool down. You won’t want to miss this!

Lost Creek Lake

Lost Creek Lake is located 30 miles northwest of Medford on the Rogue River. This is a great spot for swimming, boating, and fishing. They have public restrooms and a bunch of picnic tables for those summer BBQs!

Elk Lake

There are much beautiful sand and pebble beaches around Elk Lake and the water is crystal clear! People come from all over to swim, paddleboard, fish, camp, and hike at this gorgeous retreat. The water can be pretty chilly at the beginning of summer, but it does warm up nicely throughout the season. It can get crowded but due to all the different beaches you can access, it’s easy to spread out. Be sure to bring your pups because it is also very dog friendly!

Crowfoot Falls

Crowfoot Falls is located 30 miles north of Medford in Jackson County and is a stunning place to see and swim! The water is always fairly cold but there are a lot of shallow spots that are great for kids and dogs!
